ENGLISH LIT 344 / COMEDY & SATIRE Who's Who in American Comedy
Comedy writer of the fifties who gained some fame writing parodies of popular songs; much of his material has its roots in Jewish culture. His biggest hit was called "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah" put to the tune of Tchaikovsky's "Dabce of the Sugar Plum Fairies" from "The Nutcracker." Here's he is singing his parody of the hot song "Downtown" by Petula Clark.
