Cho is best known for her stand-up comedy which include a mix of politics and cultural commentary. Her sitcom, All American Girl was the first show focusing on an Asian family; however, network executives criticized her weight and intimidated her into a rapid weight loss which caused serious kidney failure. In addition, the show was criticized by Asian-Americans for stereotyping. She returned to stand-up and added explicit routines on substance abuse, eating disorders, bisexuality and gay men. Here's a good example of the social commentary that is a large part of her stand-up act.
